The opening round of the 2017 EL MS Championship took place on home soil for JMW Motorsport at Silverstone.
The team welcomed new driver Jody Fannin to the line up alongside Rob Smith and Rory Butcher (who was upgraded to professional over the winter - congratulations Rory!)
Silverstone was fortunate to have sunshine for the Easter weekend event that saw a healthy ELMS grid line up.
For the LM GTE grid the Ferrari 458 may be the older sister of the new 488s but as always the spirit of JMW was ready to rock and roll despite qualifying 6th on the grid.
The race was not a dramatic affair for JMW this time round. There were many positives, not least Jody's excellent debut drives for the first and last stint of the race. But, the objective became to ensure points on the board and fifth place did that.
Hopes are high that for the second round in Monza the BOP will be more favourable amd once again JMW can be regular visitors to the podium!
